Lively Streets, Reachable Braddock

Rendered image of proposal along Library Street, showing people and children along art walls, speed tables, market spaces.

Disappearing sidewalks are a major concern for urban infrastructure development in Braddock and North Braddock. In order to support the daily-needs of the residents, and improve accessibility for the community, complete streets can be designed and developed carefully and creatively. In response to concerns from residents about the fragmentation and inaccessibility of sidewalks and other street-side infrastructures, we propose enhancements along Library Street / Jones Ave between Braddock Carnegie Library to Fa’s Market — an important connector between Braddock and North Braddock. We propose more options for non-vehicular transportation and more welcoming spaces and street furniture for people and community activities along the street.
